Here I plan to explore more in depth what I am hoping to accomplish with the Shades of Myth series.
As of February 2026, there is only one title in the series,
Ares In Chains.
These books will all be novellas focused on Greek Mythology, on many of the lesser-known tales.
I hope to dramatize and fill in holes where many holes have been left unfilled.
Ares In Chains is about a minor event that is quickly mentioned in Greek mythology. The facts are all but missing or obscure at best.
We know Ares was put on trial for murdering a son of Poseidon, but that’s about all we know. Ares was placed in chains. They held a trial. That was it. No word on who attended, who presided over it, or what the verdict and punishment, if any, was handed down.
I decided to give the story more substance and purpose.
The gods destroyed the lives of others all the time. Why was this different? Why did Ares allow himself to be put in chains and stand trial? Who presided over it? What happened in that courtroom? What was the verdict? Was anyone else involved?

Like I’ve said, this is just the first book in the series.
It is a novella. I don’t want any of the books in this series to be full-fledged novels. I want these to be easy, entertaining books readers can ingest quickly.
I’ll let everyone know when the next novella is due to be released. For now, there is one in the works, but it is not my priority. It is a side project when I need to step away from my novels for a while.
And as a point of personal pride, the artwork is done by RENREW, my daughter.
