While I’m trying to finish up my next book, a second in The Shades of Myth series, I have decided to add some new content to this page by addressing my favorite albums of all-time.
I originally thought to do the top 100 but felt I was leaving out too many albums. I’m probably still leaving out too many albums with 200, but it is what it is.
And like my countdown of the 1000 best songs ever, this list is not about great works of music art, or albums that changed the course of music history. Nope.
These are albums I can actually put on and listen to all the way through without wanting to skip some songs.
Of course, few albums are truly perfect and there are occasional clunker songs on some of these albums, especially the ones nearest the bottom of the list, but these still aren’t as bad as some other albums that got passed over.
I found that there are plenty of albums out there with one or two great songs and the rest of the album pretty much stinks.
To create my list, I decided each album must have at minimum, four great songs to make the list.
And lastly, I’m a rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and metal head, so most (not all) of the albums will lean in that direction.
With each selection, I’m going to post my two favorite songs from the albums for the reader to listen too. I’ll also list two additional songs that are really good on the album, and everyone should seek them out and listen to those as well.
