During the All Hallows Eve week, many people watch scary films to get into the mood. I personally don’t celebrate Halloween although I love all the decorations and costumes. I’m a diehard Renaissance Faire devotee and dressing up and getting in character for cool events is awesome to me.
I plan to read a couple short stories before October 31.

First off, I can’t start reading anything else until I finish reading Luke Costello: The Angel/Demon of Mount Olympus by Lucas Stocks. I’m halfway through and should be able to finish it quickly. It is by no means a heavy book with lots of deep storytelling and complex character arch’s. It’s just a fun book but I’ll say more when I write a review of it.

The first short story I plan to read is The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Honestly, I can’t recall if I have ever read it before. We all seem to know the story from TV and film adaptations but if I did read it, I had to have been young. I just don’t remember reading it.

Next up will be The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft. The original short story was published in a magazine in 1928. I apparently picked up a version that has been updated for a more modern audience by John Kinderton. It is said that some readers struggle with Lovecraft’s archaic vocabulary and dense winding sentences. We will see how this adaptation is.
