Testing the knowledge of my readers.
Presenting readers with an excerpt from one of the five books in The Crystal Crux Series hoping the reader can guess which book it is from, which characters are involved and what is happening in the scene.
And to keep it more challenging, I won’t include any names.

Below is the answer to Test 1.

Test 1 was an excerpt from Blue Grotto.
Anthea had been taken prisoner by Rugerius Fabbro after the siege of Capua.
He is transporting her back to Parthenope by coach. She wakes in the coach after having passed out in the kitchens at Capua. The devastation was too much for her to process.
Now in the coach, she is experiencing a familiar sensation of blacking out but this tim it is coming upon her differently. She drank some water Rugerius provided her with, and the water had a sedative in it designed to knock her out again.
