While I acknowledge that AI has beneficial uses, I also hate that it is growing out of control and is being used to steal art. It is destroying so many crafts and skills. And it is eating up our human resources at a dangerous rate. We are already being warned by some whistleblowers that all of these data centers and uses of AI could lead to our extinction within a matter of years.
I am concerned about the future and do my best to avoid using AI.
I did, however, while working on a google vids platform, experiment with it to see where it has come. I did experiment with it some back when it first started. I see the rates they are charging for AI and it is outrageous.
The little video I threw together in a matter of minutes was a freebie and didn’t cost many anything. I wasn’t sure how to use it so I just decided to throw in some random words about Francis’ fight with the Purple Peacock.
I’m sure there are plenty of ways to edit this and make it better. I even tightened up the language of the voiceover to fit it in.
I will admit this would be a useful tool for advertising my books. I’m still, however, am having a problem with the ethical implications of using AI.
Is my little video going to destroy the world?
Probably not.
But if we all keep saying that, and we all keep doing it, and we all keep throwing a little more trash into the pond, sooner or later the water in the pond is unfit for human consumption.
Are we liable for our digital footprint?
I personally haven’t worked this out for myself yet. It might be a while before I do.
I only hope the terminators aren’t soon coming for us. The whistleblowers seem to think so.

Despite improvements to govern the sport and the increased presence of field judges, tournament marshals were still unable to clamp down on all the poaching. It was a practice made popular by the old and wealthy elites who still wished to participate in the melee without hazarding the initial charge. These brazen knights secreted their way onto the battlefield, sometimes by subtlety and sometimes by bribery, often accompanied by a protective retinue. The fact that they would call what they did ‘sport’ was galling. Spineless vultures circling desperate duels, waiting for the combatants to exhaust themselves, swooping in at the end on both men for undeserved riches. Francis had witnessed this dishonest activity before and nearly fell prey to it on several occasions. There were just not enough reliable judges to oversee every skirmish on the pitch. It was far too easy for the unrighteous to break the rules.
Once again, Francis’ honor was impugned. This vulture’s treachery deserved a day of reckoning and today was the Second Coming.
